The office of churchwarden is a venerable one, and had legal status as far back as the 1200s. The parish has two churchwardens who are technically officers of the Bishop.

The churchwardens are chosen annually at the annual parish meeting which is normally held shortly before Easter. In our parish, once a churchwarden has been selected, they normally serve for a period of five years.
They have three main areas of responsibility: management, maintenance and ministry which they fulfil in partnership with the Priest-in-Charge and the PCC:
Management: The running of the parish and the co-ordination of its activities, people and resources and finances.
Maintenance: Caring for the property of the parish, its buildings and their contents, the churchyards; and keeping registers.
Ministry: Ensuring the orderly conduct of worship, and caring for the congregation and the Priest-In-Charge
Our churchwarden is:
Christine Hoad

Term of Office 2019 - 2024
